About us
In 2018, the Ministry of Education (MOE) initiated the “SIT (Study in Taiwan) Taiwan Alumni Database Office” (TAD) to establish a systematic talent database and service platform, strengthening the linkage and interaction with alumni staying in Taiwan. TAD encourages students who graduate or complete their courses in Taiwan to register in SIT database and holds a series of seminars and events to maintain the connection with alumni and foreign students so that they can form friendship. Outstanding overseas Chinese and foreign alumni who are familiar with Taiwan and their home country cultures can join Taiwan’s enterprises, thereby becoming important professionals in Taiwan as well as overseas. In doing so, the value of Taiwan's talent cultivation can be seen around the globe.
What We Do
- maintain and increase the number of database members: promoting various foreign student activities on social media to gain publicity and encouraging more foreign students and alumni staying in Taiwan to register in our database
- plan events for foreign students with Taiwan alumni association: planning diversified activities to engage foreign students’ interest in the association and database to increase the interaction and communication between alumni and Taiwanese government
- hold “Distinguished Taiwan Alumni Award”: held by MOE every two years to recognize outstanding performance of overseas Chinese and foreign students who have studied in Taiwan. MOE invites these prizewinners to visit Taiwan, receive the award, and return to their alma mater to share their experiences of living and studying in Taiwan
- provide relevant information on employment and life in Taiwan for overseas Chinese students and foreigners: implementing the government's policies on education: cultivating, retaining and attracting talents of overseas Chinese and foreign alumni through employment seminars, college Job Fairs for Overseas Chinese and Foreign Students and providing information with regards to job vacancies and alumni events
